Project Overview
Mind Faux is an original concept by Keisha Howard, developed in collaboration with Sugar Gamers Labs and Pixels2Pixels Studio. This escape room-style PC game is designed to challenge how players perceive truth, deception, and propaganda, using a series of mini-games that dissect misinformation, manipulation, and psychological control techniques, and is released on January 20th, 2026.
Unlike traditional escape room games, Mind Faux features multiple standalone mini-games, each with its own unique theme, mechanics, and visual style. Much like how episodes of an anthology series remain independent from one another, each mini-game explores different ways propaganda operates in society, encouraging players to question narratives, detect manipulation, and think critically about the information they consume.
Our Approach
Mini-Game Format with Deep Psychological Themes
Developed as a series of disconnected escape room-style challenges, each focusing on a different aspect of propaganda, misinformation, or social engineering.
Designed engaging puzzles that require analytical thinking, forcing players to question reality and challenge deceptive narratives.
Created varied art styles and mechanics, ensuring each mini-game feels unique while reinforcing the central theme of information control.
Immersive Unreal Engine Development
Using Unreal Engine for real-time, high-fidelity rendering, ensuring cinematic-quality visuals and smooth gameplay mechanics.
Developing detailed 3D assets in Maya and ZBrush, textured with Substance Painter to achieve highly polished environments and characters.
Incorporating atmospheric lighting, psychological horror elements, and surreal environments to enhance the tension and depth of each experience.
Co-Publishing & IP Ownership
The Intellectual Property (IP) remains with Sugar Gamers, while Pixels2Pixels Studio is responsible for full game development and technical execution.
The game’s code is owned by Pixels2Pixels, ensuring long-term adaptability and development flexibility.
The game is co-published by both Sugar Gamers and Pixels2Pixels, maximizing distribution reach and audience engagement on Steam.
Global Reach & Community Engagement
Designed for a worldwide audience, launched on Steam on January 20th, 2026, with the potential for expansions.
Engaging the Sugar Gamers community for testing, feedback, and marketing, ensuring strong player engagement from the outset.
Incorporating real-world propaganda techniques as gameplay mechanics, making the game both entertaining and thought-provoking.
Results & Expected Impact
A first-of-its-kind escape room game that challenges players to think critically about information manipulation.
A visually immersive and narratively rich gaming experience, reinforcing the importance of media literacy and psychological awareness.
A collaborative publishing effort between Sugar Gamers and Pixels2Pixels, demonstrating how independent developers and gaming communities can create socially relevant content.
A highly accessible and engaging format, encouraging players to question narratives and analyze the ways in which media influences perception.
By merging Keisha Howard’s vision with cutting-edge game development, Mind Faux represents a bold new direction in interactive storytelling, offering an experience that is as thought-provoking as it is engaging, further establishing Pixels2Pixels Studio’s expertise in narrative-driven, socially impactful games.
